Collaborations & Projects
At Requtech we are continuously in cooperation with research universities and International space agencies.
Project ORION
Development of an electronically steered antenna system for LEO/MEO/GEO to be used in a mesh network – Project name ORION
In collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), we are embarking on this transformative project since 2021. Leveraging the expertise and resources of both Requtech and ESA, we aim to revolutionize the satellite communication landscape. By combining our innovative multi-beam antenna system and mesh network functionality with ESA’s deep understanding of space technology, we are unlocking new possibilities in Satcom.
This partnership enables us to draw upon ESA’s extensive knowledge and experience in satellite constellations and space missions. With their guidance, we can test our prototypes on different satellite constellations such as LEO/MEO/GEO, offering real-world validation of our technology’s capabilities.
Moreover, ESA’s collaboration ensures that our product development adheres to the highest standards of quality and performance. Their rigorous evaluation and validation processes will help refine our designs and ensure that the final product meets the stringent requirements of the Satcom industry.
By joining forces with ESA, we are confident in our ability to deliver a marketable product that will redefine Satcom on the move and Multi-Orbit applications. This partnership amplifies our commitment to innovation and positions us at the forefront of satellite communication advancements. Together, we are shaping the future of the industry, driving progress, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in communications technology.
Project ORION II
In collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), we continue our development of an electronically steered antenna system for LEO/MEO/GEO to be used in a mesh network. In August 2023 we started the second phase of the project that we call ORION II. The findings from the first phase of ORION have been esteemed groundbreaking so ESA has together with Requtech agreed to continue this transformative project.
During the time of writing (November 2023) the design of the antenna is to be finalized.
The goal in this phase is to finalize the antenna and by the end of 2024 integrate the antenna and do trials with a Tier 1 European customer. The main challenge within its phase is the functionality of the mesh network during Comms On The Move (or COTM for short) operations.
